Shaping Our Future
2023
What does the future of construction look like?
Hundreds of client's PowerPoint slides were trying to define it, yet they could neither simplify, articulate, nor visualize - let alone communicate it.
And if there's somethin' you can't solve in your communication
Who ya gonna call ?
Script, storyboard, copywriting, filming, edit, SVFX... in record time. Done.
It was eventually adopted by Gammon's CEO for his opening address at CIC annual event.
Healthy Human Global Project - Hong Kong
Healthy Human Global Project - Hong Kong
2022
"Based in Hong Kong, the Centre for Immunology & Infection, or C2i, is a translational research centre adopting innovative strategies to confront and mitigate the impact of emerging infectious diseases, and transform Hong Kong into a global hub of knowledge and research..."
In time of Covid-19 crisis, long-term research projects might not be the rage, but they are keys for faster and better response for inevitable future pandemics.
We helped C2i to create 2 videos:
1. A public video to call for volunteers to participate to the "Healthy Human Global Project - Hong Kong"
2. A corporate video to present the "Healthy Human Global Project - Hong Kong" to government, academic, partners, and potential staff.
Call for Volunteers
2022
"Would you like to be part of a not-so-distant future where treatment are specifically designed for each one of us? A future in which treatments would be more efficient and better suited for our own body.
The Centre for Immunology & Infection, or C2i, is launching an ambitious project in Hong Kong that could not only benefit local public health, but affect the world’s population at large through personalised precision medicine."

Diginex ESG
2021
Companies are feeling increasing pressure to report their ESG data from both customers, investors and regulators. But companies should spend more time improving their sustainability performance than reporting on it.
That’s why Diginex has created DiginexESG; an intuitive, fast and affordable blockchain-enabled ESG reporting tool that facilitates the entire reporting process.
One of the major challenge for this project was to produce a complete video that would encapsulate DiginexESG vision ready for their launch, while the other marketing materials were still being developed.
Another 20min "Onboarding Video" was produced to demonstrate the Saas interface in depth.
Smart Classify
2021
According to the Environment Protection Department, over 3,300 tonnes of food waste is sent to landfill every day here in Hong Kong. Over 800 tonnes of which is from the commercial and industrial sectors and the remaining 2,500 tonnes is accumulated from household waste.
Cornerstone Renewable Energy commissioned us to produce a promo video for their new "SmartClassify", an intelligent and funway to recycle food waste.
Aimed at investors, government agencies, property management companies, it had to look slick and desirable, while working in fact with a WIP prototype in a very small industrial space.
Making use of good lighting, precise storyboarding, and some VFX magic, we made their product shine bright, and food waste recycling hip.
Don’t trash that Wacom tablet…
Don’t trash that Wacom tablet…
2021
For Wacom tablets users who have recently upgraded to Catalina or Big Sur, are upset with Wacom inexistant tech support, and are ready to give up and throw their beloved (and expensive) tablet in the landfill, despair not:
A small company has created "Connect My Tablet" which - according to their website - is: "The only expert system to connect your beloved Wacom tablet to the latest MacOS (El Capitan to Big Sur) Far more then 1800 combinations of Mac Computers – MacOS versions – Wacom tablets covered"
Disclaimer: www.filmages.com is not affiliated with nor sponsored by Connect My Tablet.
We created that video just because that app initially didn't come up in our search for a solution, and we were really ready to throw our tablets to the bin; so we are happy to share this find with the community.
ALOFT
2021
Did you know that the first model electric vehicles dates from 1828?
Electric Vehicle charging has gone a long way since...
With a growing climate crisis and plenty of practical EV to choose from, one unsuspected challenge is the implementation of charging stations.
More specifically, parking spaces without a wall to mount on.
Fear not, Cornerstone Technology to the rescue with this innovative overhead EV charger.
Recycle for Rewards
2021
There is no denying that the Plastic Crisis is a most urgent matter. But merely adding collection stations won't do much since batches are more than often contaminated and simply discarded in landfill.
Cornerstone Technologies ask Filmages to create a clear, informative, and compelling video to promote their Reverse Recycling Machine, and their partnership with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park.
With very litlte filming time, we used a combination of various aerial, macro, underwater, and gimbal cameras, with the addition of motion graphics.
If we have done our job properly, you too will pay attention when disposing of your plastic bottles...and get paid for it!
Sonepeople
2020
Rolling out a new unified HR system is a major achievement for a global company.
Getting people to adopt and use it, is an entirely different challenge altogether, particularly when the target audience is spread across very diverse Asia-Pacific countries.
By creating a light-hearted and engaging animated video, we introduced the big picture of functionalities and benefit.
Nobody can tell for sure the impact of such an introductory video in real life, but wouldn't you agree that it helps to raise interest and make the first step less intimidating?
Well, that was the point; and it seems that we reached the bull's eye.
Covid-19
2020
When public health is not in crisis, allocating substantial budget to medical science doesn’t seem like an urgent priority.
And when a pandemic strikes it is chilling to discover that pumping last-minute enormous funding can’t buy immediate solutions.
Have you ever wondered what could be done to help bring a balance between research spending and scientific efficiency in confronting infectious diseases?
This is where The Pasteur Foundation Asia funding comes in...
Their funding is the antidote to our neglect!
A sustainable future with EV chargers
A sustainable future with EV chargers
2020
"A Sustainable future can’t wait, and the clock is ticking..."
This movie, made as Covid-19 was crippling the world, Hong Kong was just re-opening, and many overdue projects were suddenly hyper-urgent, was produced in just 2 week, from initial meeting to full delivery.
TM-CLK Link - Design for Manufacture and Assembly
TM-CLK Link - Design for Manufacture and Assembly
2020
The challenge:
45,000 meters of E&M service pipes to install in an underwater tunnel narrow service gallery.
Gammon's solution:
DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) modules fabrication and installation.
For Filmages the challenge was to sift through very complex technical documents and create a simplified yet faithful storyline.
Enertainer
2020
It has been an industry headache for a long time to get sufficient and early power supply from utilities companies to power all equipments on a construction site.
Gammon worked together with startup company Ampd Energy to produced Enertainer.
The Ampd Enertainer is an advanced battery system designed as a one-for-one, drop-in substitute for a traditional construction diesel generator.
Basically, the largest battery we had ever seen.
And yes, it can power your smartphone for the next few centuries.
MIC - Modular Integrated Construction
MIC - Modular Integrated Construction
2019
How to reduce carbon emission, provide controlled and safer conditions for workers, guarantee production timeline, and address aging construction workforce?
Gammon produced for CIC (Construction Industry Council) this MIC (Modular Integrated Construction) demon and exhibition building to prove the concept, share best practice, and hopefully convince key players.
On our side that meant filming high and low in Mainland China and Hong Kong, installing a 3 days timelapse camera on barge boat, and many sleepless nights.
IDPD - Integrated Digital Project Delivery
IDPD - Integrated Digital Project Delivery
2018
On the 7th consecutive year producing a video for their annual showcase, we kicked things up a notch for Gammon's 60th anniversary.
Looking at the company's future, instead of the past, we focussed on the multifaceted technology of IDPD - Integrated Digital Project Delivery.
Our task was to boil down all this information as concisely and memorably as possible to encapsulate all the digital platforms involved.
We collaborated with multiple departments, managed several stakeholders and worked with different file types.
In fact, our coverage of IDPD was so thorough that some of the stakeholders were not even aware that some of these processes even existed!
SR Corporate Presentation
2018
Over the years we have become experts at filming technical processes, whilst working within the restrictions that maintain their safety and scheduling.
We worked closely with the Star Rapid team to accurately depict their prototyping and low-volume manufacturing business in China.
After a thorough pre-production planning stage, we ensured our 2-day shoot ran without a hitch as we filmed every process in their factory with equally keen eyes.
We wanted their expertise to speak for itself by combining staff and client interviews, and complementing their high-tech equipment with smooth motion graphic captions and discreet 3D motion tracking.
Gammon 2030
2017
What does the future hold? What are the major innovations that are going to deeply change the construction industry?
From robots to GammonBot, from exoskeletons to remote-controlled cranes, from 3D concrete printers to virtual dashboard, new technology is coming fast and implementation is on its way to 2030.
Leadership Meeting APAC 2016 - Results
Values 2016
Kickoff
2016
Q: How to push your new Company Values forward globally?
A: Put your boots on and kick some!
We convinced Speedcast senior management to use rugby to embody the teamwork spirit, and pass the message around with a smooth continuity effect.
With words visually translated into forward action, this video scored and converted way over the expectation crossbar.
Megaman Lighting Exhibition 2015
Megaman Lighting Exhibition 2015
2015
As one of the leading global providers of energy efficient and smart lighting solutions, Megaman commissioned the Filmages crew to cover their booth at the Hong Kong Lighting Fair 2015.
Basketball Practice Planner App
Basketball Practice Planner App
2015
If you thought you could escape from your electronic devices when playing sports, think again! Coachbase's neat app is making its way onto the best basketball courts around the world.
In this 60 second explainer we needed to feature the app's extraordinary ease of use, so we put it to work in real-life.
We based our story around the character of a full-time professional / part-time coach, switching between third and first-person perspectives. To do this we built a custom "iCamera" rig to track the app while our actor was on the move.
Oh, and casting a team of American-looking teenagers in Hong Kong during the summer holidays was not the least of our challenges...
Reaching Further, Bringing You Closer
Reaching Further, Bringing You Closer
2015
AsiaSat was launching their new corporate branding initiative, and needed a video to broadcast their revamped identity and reaffirm their business positioning.
Shot in 4K/Ultra HD over just a few days, we were particularly challenged by consistently bad weather over Hong Kong, so the time-lapse involved a lot of composition magic to look glorious.
Build, Grow, Operate your e-Commerce
Build, Grow, Operate your e-Commerce
2014
E-commerce is not only a sophisticated technology, but also an extremely complicated concept with a lot of moving parts; Online retailing, ad banner administration, consumer behavior tracking, promotional offers, online payments, warehouse management, fulfillment, and much more.
So to add some clarity to the complexity and get ClearGo’s message out loud and clear we used dynamic motion graphics.
Motion graphics helped to represent abstract concepts and give a unified look in line with Cleargo brand identity.
BlackBerry Jam Asia 2013
Cosmo Supply Lab
2013
The Challenge: Cosmo Supply Lab is a leading manufacturer of mix-material accessories, mostly for “The Forbidden Fruit Which Shall Not Be Named”.
So we had to show without showing, explain without being specific, demonstrate without end products, yet convince - uncompromisingly.
The Solution: We borrowed from the craft of magicians who are always attracting the audience's attention to distract from what should not be visible. We carefully worked out the frame and camera moves, and added dynamic visual effects to work out the magic.
Hitachi Data Systems - Data Storage Management
Hitachi Data Systems - Data Storage Management
2011
Data is flowing faster than many organizations can manage. We produced a teaser video to attract I.T. executives to download a white paper on big data, converged systems, virtualization, cloud computing and so on...
A bit of a dry topic? Well, we managed to develop an original and catchy animation to raise the eyebrows of busy I.T. experts.
Our ITX character is simple, yet tells a rather complex story with basic movements and facial expressions.
One month later; a jazzy tune, casual voice over, an eye-catching color scheme and some delicate transitions bring the Hitachi Data Systems' technical findings to life.
Cartes in Asia
2011
For the second consecutive year, GL Events commissioned Filmages to produce a short presentation video for Comexposium's “Cartes in Asia Summit” in Hong Kong.
The main topics of this year’s conferences were mobility, payments, smart technologies, digital security and IoT. To catch the audience’s attention immediately, and centralise the human element within the story, we created a kick-off video featuring a hand manipulating smart technologies with various interfaces in everyday situations
The apparently simple animation was based on outline strokes animated using one hand, which required advance motion graphics with a few tailor-made sound effects. The final video was a startling surprise for an audience of tech buffs. It helped the client strenghten its corporate image as an innovative event organizer.
The Black Death: Past, Present & Future of the Plague
The Black Death: Past, Present & Future of the Plague
2008
If you thought that the terrifying plague, the Black Death, was something from the past, here is some not-so-good news.
With the apparition of antibiotic resistant strains, the Plague is currently classified as a re-emerging disease.
The good news is, the folks at Institut Pasteur are hard at work keeping us safe, but there is still a long way to go.
You’ve been warned…
WeiXin Tutorial Video
2008
Introducing an IM app may seem like it was plucked from a historical archive from another era, but scientists argue that even time had a beginning.
That was Tencent's first introduction to the Hong Kong audience.
The Fight Against Infectious Diseases
The Fight Against Infectious Diseases
2005
In the age of attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, 140 max-character IMs, and 15-seconds video clips, watching a 12-minute long documentary might seem like a sizeable task. But there are people who dedicate their lives to saving others, and that doesn't happen in a snap.
Hong Kong University - Pasteur Research Centre needed a corporate documentary to present their latest activities and appeal for research sponsorship. Filmages created a whole set of communication materials, including a brochure, a website, and a 12-minute long video.
This enabled HKU-PRC to secure an endowment fund and further contribute to the fight against infectious diseases.
We also produced a full scale exhibition at HKU Museum and Art Galleries (UMAG) "From the Plague to new Emerging Diseases"
