Rolling out a new unified HR system is a major achievement for a global company.
Getting people to adopt and use it, is an entirely different challenge altogether, particularly when the target audience is spread across very diverse Asia-Pacific countries.

By creating a light-hearted and engaging animated video, we introduced the big picture of functionalities and benefit.
Nobody can tell for sure the impact of such an introductory video in real life, but wouldn't you agree that it helps to raise interest and make the first step less intimidating?

Well, that was the point; and it seems that we reached the bull's eye.

E-commerce is not only a sophisticated technology, but also an extremely complicated concept with a lot of moving parts; Online retailing, ad banner administration, consumer behavior tracking, promotional offers, online payments, warehouse management, fulfillment, and much more.

So to add some clarity to the complexity and get ClearGo’s message out loud and clear we used dynamic motion graphics.
Motion graphics helped to represent abstract concepts and give a unified look in line with Cleargo brand identity.

    2014

Being nominated in 3 categories at the prestigious the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) 2014 Annual Awards is quite an achievement, but this was only the beginning for Knight Frank because they only had days to piece together their 45-second video submission per category nomination.

We got a call just a week before Chinese New Year. That’s right; THE Chinese New Year that paralyses the entire region for a full week. By experience we knew that submissions would be judged on hard facts contained in the printed submission. However, we knew that we had to create something fresh and bold for the fastidious jury panel. Moreover, win or lose, we wanted the videos to steal the show!

So we proposed to intertwine 3 athletic disciplines with the 3 categories in order to surprise, delight, and leave a long-lasting impression. It was a risky pitch, but we were pleasantly surprised to receive the full trust and creative support from KF.

“Big thanks to you and your team in producing such high quality videos! We got two [out of three] of the awards nailed – Residential and the Professional Services. The videos were the talk of the town last night and we received big compliments in terms of our out-of-the-box presentation of our teams.”

Mongolia in Feburary is cold - very cold!

Shooting in -30 was equally tough on our bodies as well as our equipment; but we always relish a challenge, even one as chilly as this!

With good preparation we could complete the shooting within the very short time - 2 days only and with very short daytime s'il vous plait!

This Mongolia episode is just another part of the ongoing series commissioned by the UK Trade and Investment. You might want to refresh you memory watching the compilation of previous 9 countries around SE Asia.

Instead of creating a standard corporate video, we took this as an opportunity to create something that would allow the Client to stand out in the market place.
Having 2 days to shoot the 3 parts meant that we needed to plan and storyboard each video, for the most effective use of the time allowed.
But with 3 separate storyboards being conceptualized, meant we would have to create 3 unique viral videos that could stand alone, yet, be used and make coherent sense as a trilogy.

    2011

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong commissioned Filmages to create an upbeat promotional video to point out 2 main trends: the growth of their members (755) and the FCCIHK strong appeal to non-French companies aiming to deepen ties with French businesses. Filmages came up with the idea of filming interviews outdoor to give a feel of involvement of French businesses in the city. Also Filmages developed a narrative continuity through a well-prepared script that would link each sequence with one another.

Right from the start, Filmages sets the mood with speedy shots of busy streets of Hong Kong as a place of global exchanges. Next step is to illustrate the “French layer” in Hong Kong with a strong presence of French leaders in key sectors such as infrastructure, banking, environment, food and beverage, logistics etc. Last but not least, come the actions and services proposed by the FCCIHK. The whole process finds its logic with the 17 interviewees filmed on the field. They were FCCIHK members or FCCIHK staff, ready to confidently convey the message of an active and successful French business community supported by the FCCIHK.

Although August offered a surprisingly bad weather and that everyone was not back from holiday yet we managed to shoot all the interviews within 3 weeks. Post-production included the editing, the music integration and rotoscoping of 3 shots to integrate key words (insight, inspire, influence) as well as sound mix and color grading. The video was ready to reveal its impact at the FCCIHK Annual Dinner.

For the second consecutive year, GL Events commissioned Filmages to produce a short presentation video for Comexposium's “Cartes in Asia Summit” in Hong Kong.

The main topics of this year’s conferences were mobility, payments, smart technologies, digital security and IoT. To catch the audience’s attention immediately, and centralise the human element within the story, we created a kick-off video featuring a hand manipulating smart technologies with various interfaces in everyday situations

The apparently simple animation was based on outline strokes animated using one hand, which required advance motion graphics with a few tailor-made sound effects. The final video was a startling surprise for an audience of tech buffs. It helped the client strenghten its corporate image as an innovative event organizer.

During this time we endured the rapidly changing Asian summer monsoon season. Surviving no less than 4 typhoons, we directed the interviews in a plethora of places, skillfully managing our shooting schedule throughout these chaotic conditions.

Pourquery approached Filmages to create an animated video, which would promote their bicycle testing services at the Taiwan bicycle expo. Instead of showing the testing machines, Filmages focussed on the clients' benefits in terms of customs and legal compliances, as well as user safety.

The challenge - capture the attention of visitors to the Pourquery amongst a myriad of visually dynamic colours, carbon and chrome exhibits throughout the expo.

The solution - Filmages proposed the creation of a colourful illustrated video exalting the importance and necessity of product testing, rather than concentrating on the physical act of testing.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hong Kong we jumped into the past and organised a giant timeline. From the Kai Tak closure to the Octopus Card, from World Cup 98 to SARS; we selected events that struck a chord in the French expatriate community.

But first, to swing into animation we had to source a number of visual elements. Try to count them as you watch the video and you will understand the challenge.

This video was the highlight of the evening, triggering many discussion between the FCCIHK members and their guests.
