Lunar New Year - Rabbit
2023
Pet rabbits have been genetically modified to become extraordinarily cute, fluffy, and utterly dumb.
Yet, Rabbits wouldn't have made it to the great Chinese Lunar Cycle Zodiac if they didn't have something special.
Inescapably, we had to bow to the client's request to feature the ubiquitous cute bunny.
But we also drew from the Monkey King legend to magically reveal the powerful best of breed-er...
Entirely drawn and animated in-house.
SWEAT Dance Festival Promo 2022
SWEAT Dance Festival Promo 2022
2022
Due to Covid-19, HKAPA's SWEAT Dance Festival had been cancelled twice in a row.
For 2022 drastic travelling restrictions to HK were still in place, so they decided to give worldwide dance students a life back by re-inventing themselves as a mixed on/off line event.
Needless to say, they were pretty busy to get it off the ground, so it's only very last minute that we were contacted to create this promo teaser.
Created in less than 2 weeks, with virtually no guidance, we exceeded their expectation and got the written and visual content flowing on a tailored soundtrack.
The promo teaser racked 120K views in just 2 weeks, and the event was fully booked a few days before start, to become one the their best-off ever.
Chinese New Year Lion Dance 2018
Chinese New Year Lion Dance 2018
2019
Drums and dragons and lions - oh my!
In the 15 years we have been filming in Hong Kong, there is not much that compares to getting amongst the Chinese New Year celebrations.
When you are tasked to capture all this vibrant energy we were definitely spoiled for choice at The Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong with 10 lions, a dragon and a dozen drummers filling their hotel lobby.
25th Anniversary
2016
Our clients and friends from La Rose Noire were celebrating their 25th anniversary, and we had the priviledge to write their stage's script. Here is the first excerpt:
"If the whole story of the universe, since its creation to today, was measured as 1 year,
our solar system would only appear on the last quarter,
birds and flowers would only appear in the last 3 days,
humans would only appear in the last minute,
and modern history would only start in the last 5 seconds.
So 25 years is not much, really.
One can argue that it is a quarter of a Century; but in the grand cosmic scheme it is virtually nothing, less than a blink of an eye, and it is humbling.
Yet, the 25 years that we are celebrating today represent an incredible journey,
filled with wonderful people,
hard work,
amazing achievements,
and I hope you will agree; delicious outcome.. "

2016
The sights and sounds that herald Chinese New Year celebrations are infectious.
With this much energy in the air our cameramen stay agile as The Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong indulged their guests with a colourful performance from a traditional Lion Dance troupe.
Lip Dub
2012
The FCCIHK contacted Filmages requesting a celebratory centrepiece for the leaving party for one of their colleagues. This whole video was shot on a Saturday, on a tight budget and all done in a few hours.
A special mention has to go to the cast as they spent many hours sneaking in rehearsals so their colleague would be none the wiser!
Passion Pâtisserie 2012
2012
Never forget where you came from.
La Rose Noire may have an incredibly successful global enterprise now, but they never forgot their humble beginning as a single cake shop.
Although the high-demand grew them into a wholesale manufacturer, they always kept a deep love for retail.
So in 2012 they opened the “Passion” patisserie and asked Filmages to produce a social-media teaser.
Our main challenge was to introduce the audience to an unusually large array of products.
We decided to bring in two dancers with different outfits, choreography and mood lighting to represent various consumers and their respective appetites.
Macarons & Petits Fours 2012
2012
How do you fire up a party?
By inviting La Rose Noire's mischievous Mini-macarons and Amuse-bouches!
To promote this new line of finger-food products we created a light-hearted comedy using stop-motion animation to give life to bit-size delicacies.
We wish we could say that no Macaron was harmed in the making of this video, but that wouldn't be true. Stop-motion animation takes time, a lot of time, and we had to frequently relieve the "actors" from duty.
Scental Lip Dub
2011
We had worked with L'Oréal's travel retail marketing team on several projects, so to celebrate their huge achievements they wanted to make a fun, team-spirited video.
At this time it seemed like every company felt like a Lip-Dub video was a must-do.
But we were more than happy to indulge, because we had a lot of fun working in harmony with the staff.
MIPIM Asia Kick Off 2010

Opening Teaser
2009
For it’s 10th annual event, the HKJFF wanted to make a branded video to raise awareness of the event, using the HKJFF logo as the storyboard foundation.
The HKJFF logo contains three perspectives in it’s design:
1. The Star of David - Historic symbol of the Jewish faith and culture.
2. Audience eyes - Well, it is a film festival.
3. A circle of people holding hands - Bringing the community together for culture, entertainment, and new friends.
From Howard’s storyboard, Filmages developed and choreographed a cast of unique characters, composited, edited, and synched the edit to Carol’s great music.
