- Continuing its support for Matthieu Ricard’s global humanitarian organization, Karuna Shechen, Filmages produced a short documentary video featuring the low-cost, high-educational impact, “Bamboo Schools”.
The goal of the Bamboo Schools project is to bring education to children in disadvantaged communities in Nepal. Started in 2000, the project now operates 8 Bamboo Schools, of which 3 have been built with Karuna Shechen’s financial aid, providing free education to around 15,000 students. The film follows the initiator of this project explaining his life’s mission, and how, with a little help from some friends, he can change the future for many Nepalese children.
